These days 'learning computers' is more than using a Word Processing programme. You need to know what makes them tick. It is the software (Apps) that tells the hardware what to do. For that you need to know coding; the instructions that are contained in the App that allows you to interact with the hardware.
Start your journey into technology / computers and delve into the world of computer programming by taking on challenges in our robotics and minecraft classes.
Playground
Our dedicated playground provides your little ones with mental and physical stimulation in a safe environment. Play is one of the most indispensable gifts we can give children. The variety of play areas encourages our children to form friendships, be part of a group, to face challenges, to develop their creativity, their imagination, to explore and to have fun.
Buddy Bench
There are always times in our lives when we need a friend, a buddy to lean on, to chat to, someone to listen.
School Hall
From sport to plays to dancing, talks and presentations, after school activities, even a cinema!
Outdoor Classroom
Our school is fortunate enough to have an amazing outside space. Over the past few months, Bernard our school caretaker has been very busy building a new outdoor classroom for the pupils of St. Mary’s. The teachers are thrilled to have this outdoor space where pupils can be immersed in learning about nature. There is a whole world waiting to be explored beyond the classroom walls. Our new outdoor classroom provides a space for learning, for exploration, for being with nature, for caring for our environment and providing learning experiences that are child-centred and creative.
The many benefits attributed to learning outside the classroom include:
- It improves academic achievement.
- It makes learning more engaging and relevant.
- It nurtures creativity.
- It reduces behaviour problems and improves attendance.
- It stimulates, inspires, and improves motivation.
- It improves children’s attitudes to learning.
- Improves pupils’ wellbeing and concentration.

St. Mary's Primary School Outdoor classroom
School Garden
We are delighted to announce that our school garden has a new location. Work is on-going and hopefully it will be ready soon for the children. It will be great to see them get their hands dirty and enjoy the benefits of gardening.
Our Wildflower Garden
Wildflowers are not just beautiful to look at, they play an important role in our ecosystems. They provide habitats for pollinators and food for small animals. Our school wildflower garden was looking beautiful throughout the summer. Well done to the pupils in third class for sowing the seeds!!
Physical Activities
From Football, both Girls & Boys, Cross Country, Swimming, Gym, and even Dodgeball (look out teachers!) and that is just a few of the physical activities that we get up to! You can find us on the go all the time!
